"Ever since I was a little girl I have been collecting stones and treasures from nature. I used to gather the ones I thought were the finest in a jar and remember finding myself picking up one by one to sit and study them carefully for a long time. My jar got quickly overflowded with new finds and in the end I had boxes full of treasures from around the world.

"Tesouro da terra" is Portuguese and means Treasures of Earth. This is my first collection of handmade vases embellished with all the beautiful finds from the past and the present. Each vase is grouted by hand around old and used vases. Every single little gem or find is carefully worked into the grout and crushed ceramics in different color palettes have been used to give that little extra. It takes around 3-5 hours to sculpt and build one vase depending on size and amount of gems.

The inspiration to do this collection is coming from my time living and working in Portugal at the year of 2017. Grouted vases, potterys, mirrors, tables, plates and even house fasades, embellished with mosaik, stones and shells is very common in Portugal. The technique however, has existed for centuries all over the world."
